First Grade

I can't believe how fast they grow!! The Big S is now in first grade, but I think he thinks he's a lot older. I love the summer because you get to spend so much time with them. Although he would much rather be with his friends all the time. If it's like that now I can't imagine how it will be when he's a teen. He's a busy-body, just like his father. That's why I love school so much because it's something that will keep him constantly busy and it's constructive. He had a hard day the other day and I said to him "You just need to try a little harder in making good choices." His reply was "but it's so hard to be good." I then responded with "it's not so hard and you are SO smart I know you can do it." He is extremely smart and that's what usually gets him in trouble. Anyway, life is wonderful. You are able to have all the wonderful memories from your childhood, but then you are able to keep growing and changing and experiencing all the great things in life. So, while it's hard to think he just keeps getting bigger, it's also great to see how our relationship intensifies and how we can become even better friends.

"His" phone

This picture kills me. I was messing around with my new flash on my camera. I told him to turn around so I could take a picture and this is what I found. The Big S likes to sneak my phone and make phone calls. He actually taught himself how to make and send text messages. If ever my phone is missing I know to find The Big S and most often he'll have it. It's even a bit broken, but he knows the ways around that too. So, one day he says to me "Mom, we share this phone. It belongs to both of us." Are you kidding me? He's not even a teenager and he's trying to take over my stuff. Oh gosh am I in for something. I just barely thought about it though, that's exactly how Scott was when he was younger. He probably didn't do it as young though.

New Love

The Big S had so much fun at "home." One of his new-found love's(well not too new) is webkinz. I think he got 3 or 4 while we were there. No, he's not spoiled at all. He just knows how to sweet talk you until he gets his way. This monkey was the first one he got at "home." That one was an interesting experience. Him and his cousin B decided they each wanted a new one. The Big S wouldn't let it down. I had mentioned they sold them at the mall and every sentence had the word webkinz included in it. Somehow Scott got roped into taking him and getting one. Yeah, I don't think he appreciated that too much ;) It's okay though, he did it and that's what counts. Many more adventures to talk about soon!

SHAQ Baby!

We have a friend down here in AZ that is a realtor. He has been getting a few "famous" clients lately. One of his most recent clients has been Shaq. Scott, The Big S, Little Miss S and Little Mr. L went over to our friend J's house the other day and J showed them an autographed pair of shoes and jersey he was given by Shaq. The Big S tried on the shoes. Man does he have big feet! I love the picture of The Big S holding the shoe. It looks like his entire head could fit inside the shoe.

Too Smart for his own britches

So this little man is sooo smart. He has been able to use the computer since he was about 2 1/2 years old. He likes to play all sorts of games. He wouldn't dare think of playing Playhouse Disney or Nick Jr. So, he's been trying to play some "older" games. He has a set of twin older friends that play roller-hockey. He idolizes these boys. He decided he wanted to play roller-hockey too. We told him if he wants to play he needs to learn how to roller-skate first. Scott decided he would get on the internet with the big "S" and look for roller skates on ebay. They looked and tried to bid on one pair, but it didn't pan out. The next morning I woke up to find three different bids on three different skates. One of which was a pair of men's size 13. The big "S" wears size 13 in boys. Then I find out one of the maximum bids he made was placed at $1,154.00. I couldn't believe it. When I found the three bids I was ready to kick some butt. Then later on I got on my email and found a confirmation for a shipment from Target. I thought to myself, "I have NOT ordered anything from Target." As I click on the email I find a High School Musical Troy barbie and a black Transformers back pack that had been ordered. Okay, no guessing what happened here. I actually giggled to myself a bit. More in amazement than anything. Just the fact that he's 6 1/2 and knows how to order items online killed me. He was at school when I found out so luckily he didn't see me laughing about it. Later on after he got home I spoke with him about it. He denied it then he eventually admitted that Little Miss "S" got on the computer and ordered it for him. He got caught in the lie and knew it. He blows my mind sometimes. I see wonderful things in his future. I also see what kind of trouble he can get himself into if he doesn't make the right choices.

New Journey

Today is the first official day we're starting a blogpage for each child. It will be a good way to make sure they have a journal and then eventually we'll be able to print this into a book. I think it will be a good way to keep up with what they're doing and be able to stroll down memory lane as time goes by. Hopefully, after being printed into a book, it will be something they will hold onto and cherish!!
